I really like the redesign - any chance the supporters could pay for a new supporters shield while we're at it?

I'd be happy keeping it as a "shield" but having it look like either the Bundesliga trophy or the ladies wimbledon trophy. Both are quite cool

I think it looks great. What an improvement. Nothing will ever touch the Stanley Cup though. Classic.

i just googled his name and thats what came up. i didnt notice the date... i still think its odd to name the trophy after a living owner of a team and someone who's only connection to the sport is ownership/funding. im not too familiar with american soccer history but is there really no player or coach worthy to name the trophy after?

I read on Bigsoccer that there may be a new supporters shield in the near future. The same people that spearheaded the first one are looking to improve upon it (apparently the current one was made by a metal working student). If thats the case RPB should be all over that. We could probably raise a few thousand in donations ourselves

This is the current Supporters Shield by the way. And like the MLS Cup wasn't a cup, this is no shield.

I also like the old Barrell Style Stanley Cup! If for anything else, it looks like a pony keg!

Really, apart from Lamar Hunt, no-one has done more for soccer in North America than him. He is one of the two investors who kept MLS from going under during the dark early days. There wouldn't be TFC or MLS at all if it weren't for him. He fully deserves the honour, and I'm glad he'll see it while he's still alive.

Gotta agree. As much as I despise the Galaxy, I have nothing but gratitude for Big Poppa Anchultz. If it weren't for him this whole ride woulda stopped in 2000

Lets win, then care what it looks like.

Couldn't be any worse than the World Cup of Hockey Trophy!
